Nearly 35 years ago, my (younger) sister thought it would be a good idea to participate in a garage sale. And to sell our records. Where "our" would actually be mostly mine. I’m still a little mad about this. Many were singles but there were also a few albums.
This is how I lost Diesel and Dust, (still) the most famous Midnight Oil album (at least in France). A few years later, during the Napster early days (or was it eMule?) I grabbed it in MP3. A very poorly encoded version. Quite hard to listen to.
An now, digging in my CD collection, in a spirit of "I shall rip all of them before I die!", I found a copy of this album, probably bought in a disc convention or a garage sale in the recent years. Ripped it a few minutes ago. Flac, of course, storage is no longer an issue.
A decent amp, my 20-something Wharfedale speakers, and yes, it’s happening, I’m 13 again.
